WP Lead Player can send video events to Google Analytics and the Meta pixel, as long as your site already loads them.
Switch it on
- Go to WP Lead Player › Settings.
- Under Send events to, tick Google Analytics, Meta pixel or both.
- Click SAVE.
What gets sent
| What happens | Google Analytics (GA4) | Meta pixel |
|---|---|---|
| Play | video_start |
WPLPVideoPlay |
| Progress at 20%, 50% and 80% | video_progress |
WPLPVideoProgress |
| Finished | video_complete |
WPLPVideoComplete |
| Opt-in form shown | wplp_gate_shown |
WPLPGateShown |
| Sign-up | generate_lead |
Lead |
Sign-ups arrive as Google’s recommended generate_lead event and Meta’s standard Lead event, so they land in the reports and audiences those tools already have. Every event carries the video ID, plus the title and percentage where relevant. Only three progress marks are sent, so neither tool gets flooded.
Good to know
- The plugin never loads a tag itself and adds no tracking of its own. If the tag isn’t on your site, nothing is sent.
- It’s off by default on purpose. Switching it on changes the numbers in your analytics, so it’s your call.
