Adding an opt-in form to a video gets you started. This article explains every setting on the Opt-In tab.
Switch it on
Open the video, click the Opt-In tab and set Include Opt-In Box to YES. The rest of the settings then appear.
Location
- Beginning – before the video plays.
- Middle – partway through. Enter the exact point in the Seconds box.
- End – when the video finishes.
Wording
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Headline | The large line at the top of the form. |
| Text | The line under the headline. |
| Button | The button wording. Leave blank for the default (Join). |
| Skip link | The skip wording, for example Skip. |
| Name field | The label in the name box, for example Name. |
| Email field | The label in the email box, for example Email. |
| Small print | Small type beneath the buttons. Links are allowed, for example Privacy. Leave blank to show nothing. |
Allow Skipping
- NO – viewers must sign up to keep watching.
- YES – viewers can skip and carry on.
Form design
Pick Site default (Card) to follow the design set in WP Lead Player › Settings, or choose one of the eight built-in designs (or one you’ve built). See Choosing a form design.
Any individual colour you set on this tab still wins over the design.
Colours and backgrounds
- Text Color – the colour of the form text (there’s a Sample Text preview).
- Allow Skipping – see above.
- Opt-In Background – choose Background Image or Background Color.
- Opt-In Background Opacity – Yes or No. With Yes, the opacity value sets how dark the tint is between the video and the form – in other words, how much of the video shows through behind the form.
- Opt-In Button Background – Background Image or Background Color, with pickers for Choose color for button background and Choose color for button text background.
Split test
Tick Test a second version of this wording to run an A/B test. See Split testing your opt-in wording.
Save and test
Click SAVE AND CLOSE, then test in a private window, because Smart gating hides the form from people who’ve already subscribed.
