Adding a call to action button

A Call to Action puts a button over your video that sends viewers to any page, such as a sales page or booking form.

Set it up

  1. Open the video and click the Call to Action tab.
  2. Set Include Call to Action to YES.
  3. Choose the Location: Beginning, Middle or End. For Middle, enter the point in the Seconds box.
  4. Type the Button Text, for example “Get the course”.
  5. Paste the page address into Url.
  6. Set Automatic Redirect to YES to open your link in a new tab as soon as the button appears, or NO to wait for viewers to click. The video stays where it is either way, and there’s no delay setting.
  7. Set Allow Skipping to YES or NO.
  8. Style it with Action Background, Action Background Opacity and Action Button Background, plus the button colour pickers.
  9. Click SAVE AND CLOSE.

Works with smart gating

With Smart gating switched on, people who’ve already subscribed skip the opt-in form. Smart gating doesn’t switch a call to action on by itself, but if you’ve set one up on the video, subscribers will still see it. See Skipping the opt-in for existing subscribers.

Still stuck? Open a ticket on the support page on ABC and a real person will help.
